Sustainable Design Course at Maho Bay

Maho Bay Finals

From 1997 to 2007, Karen Sullivan taught a course focused on sustainable design in conjunction with Colorado State University. This intense, two week class was held at world renowned eco-resorts in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Graduate and under graduate students participated in course discussions, field trips, and a group design charrette.

With an interdisciplinary mix from majors including architecture, interior designer, landscape architecture, construction management, natural resource management, and business, students were challenged to apply sustainable design to their field, as well as understanding the success of collaborating with other professions.
